Ripe's Ethos

The DNA for Ripe is borne from Rob Brewster and Gina Kahler themselves and their passion for helping people and business achieve and exceed their goals. Rob’s love of embracing new technologies to capitalise on business opportunities is a passion, however understanding business, people and consumers is at the core of Ripe.

At the heart of every business are people themselves, whether they be staff, owners, shareholders, customers or the end consumer. Understanding the drivers, the motivations, behaviours and thought processes of all the people connected to a business is critical in mapping out and executing a plan for success and this is exactly where Ripe can help.

Where did Ripe start?

It all started with Rob Brewster. After graduating from The University of Queensland as a Veterinary Surgeon and working in Central Queensland, Rob took to the skies and travelled to the UK to work and experience life overseas. As a vet in England, Rob started one of the first veterinary websites dedicated to knowledge sharing amongst the global veterinary community, along with other unrelated website and online projects for US-based companies.

Upon his return to Australia in 1998, Rob started Aztech Designs offering website development services to Brisbane businesses. His first client was Tangalooma Island Resort where over 18 years many website iterations were built and online booking systems developed. He also established a network of photographers around Australia providing the first Property Virtual Tour service to real estate agencies, in particular, Ray White Real Estate and Ray White Commercial.

In 2000, Rob was approached by DDB advertising to join their team and establish DDB Digital within the Brisbane market. After 5 years with DDB having worked on a multitude of medium and large corporate clients within the areas of Marketing, Advertising and of course Digital, Rob went back out on his own and started Ripe Solutions driven by a passion for turning great ideas into effective consumer-facing, business solutions. He also committed to always conducting business in an open, honest and transparent way to ensure he slept well each and every night.

Soon after Gina Kahler joined Ripe Solutions as a marketing consultant, bringing with her vast marketing experience, having spent time working in the Bureau of Statistics, the Brisbane Broncos and over ten years at Golden Casket starting as an assistant brand manager and working her way up to Head of Marketing.

Since joining Ripe in 2006, Gina spent over 10 years between consulting to Subway restaurants and working for Subway as the Regional Marketing Director for Australia and New Zealand. She is now back at Ripe as Director of Marketing consulting on a variety of client brands.
